WITH OPEN MINDS
"Friendship:The Route to Peace" is a multicultural, educational, diversity immersion for teens held at residential camps. The program, "Friendship: The Route to Peace", works to prevent acts of hate and violence by teaching positive, constructive ways to confront racism, religious persecution and conflicts of all kinds. Chant of Summer '08
Respect, all up in it, ohhh.
Watch me help and watch me go,
Watch me help that friend of mine,
Swim and use a bow.
Now watch me prove I'm Respect.
Now watch me prove I'm Respect.
Now watch me prove I'm Respect.
Now watch me prove I'm Respect.
Aaaahhh, PROVE!
Friends..... WITH OPEN MINDS
Young men and women, American and those from over 40 different countries now living in the United States, are having meaningful multicultural experiences, as reflected by the following poem that one group wrote:
Some people came from Africa Korea, Puerto Rico, Albania.
The big states.
We went swimming like we were winning.
Everyone was nice Like sticky rice.
Nice people, Good eats, Burgers and pickles.
Where everybody is one.
Where we solve problems by words, not by gun.
Where everybody is family.
Where nobody tries to show off or act so manly.
Where when trouble comes around
The counselors cancel it down.
Where we are our own little town.
Everybody smiles. Nobody frowns.
